youth mininstry

What an evening! The kids (and a few of the adults) had a great evening last night. You make me feel like dancin'. They had a great time together. Anita shared with me that the whole evening was positive and great fun. Every kid participated and seemed to have a great time. The lesson for the evening was that it is possible to do all things to the "glory of God." And to make the message about Him attractive to our world. I am so pleased with this team's work. Last night was a great example of the team that it takes to pull off such an event. Thanks to all who helped. There were 37 teens there with a few away on vacation. So, things are moving forward.

Sunday night is an all church fellowship so they will be participating in that evening with everyone else. One of the small groups has planned the evening and it is going to be a lot of fun together. So, make sure they get there. An all-nighter (lock-in) is being scheduled for August 1 AND it is an event in which they can bring their friends. It is going to be a planned evening of "recreation." So, they will have a great time. I am very pleased with how the group is doing!

I am continuing the search for a youth pastor. The process is often not a quick as we would like. But, please pray with me that the Lord will guide us as we determine what is most effective for our kids. What ever you don't outsource the spiritual develpment of your kids to the church. In other words, guide your teen's spiritual develpment. Pray for them and with them. Talk to them. Share your testimony with them. And get them involved in the ministry you are involved in. That will make all the difference in the world.

Hope you have a wonderful day. I am not sure how you are supposed to respond to this post. But, you can always e-mail me at pastorcurry@louisvillefirst.org . Don't forget that Operation Appreciation is on Saturday. That would be a great night to bring your teen with you to see how God moves among a group of young soldiers. The service begins at 7 pm.

Blessings!!
Harry
